Climbing New Heights offers guided outdoor rock climbing trips to Seneca Rocks and other locations around West Virginia and the East Coast. Guides Phil Mastrangelo and Chris Price provide professional guide services in the mid-atlantic region.

Chris is an AMGA Apprentice Rock Guide, AMGA Apprentice Alpine Guide, AMGA Single Pitch Instructor, and he has completed the AMGA Ice Instructor course. Additionally, Chris is a climbing ranger at Mt. Rainier NP, a Wilderness EMT, and Avalanche Professional. He is a proud Veteran of the US Air Force and his true passion is to guide people on their climbing adventures. Phil is a Single Pitch Instructor, and long-time instructor of the Monday night ClimbFit Class at Climbing New Heights.

Seneca Rocks is an amazing climbing destination. The south summit at 2,241’ elevation is said to be the only technical 5th class summit east of Devil’s Tower, Wyoming. Meaning you must climb multiple pitches of technical fifth class terrain to reach its summit. The area is known for stiff grading, and wonderful traditional climbing. There are numerous routes that span the entire grade spectrum from beginner to advanced. We can customize your Seneca experience to your level and experience.

Our climbers meetup group is a great way to link up with other climbers around the tri-state area. We regularly schedule outdoor climbing activities in a fun group setting that are an affordable way to get out there and try outdoor rock climbing with friends, follow along on our meetup site below!

Climbing New Heights guides offer climbing at other locations around the eastern panhandle. We have guided groups at popular locations such as Harpers Ferry WV, Elizabeth Furnace VA, Shenandoah National Park VA, New River Gorge WV, and others. All our guiding is subject to permitting.
